Margrethe helps you improve your health and feel more energetic

If you need help finding a solution to pain or discomfort, acupuncture can help. In my practice I combine Chinese and Western medical knowledge because I believe that both can play a role in purposefully improving your health.

We work together on a practical, tailor-made approach. First, we map out your lifestyle and treatment goal. The subsequent treatment and your health advice is aimed at a natural, long-term solution of your complaints.

Acupuncture, cupping and moxa can help with the following complaints:  Stress, headache, neck and shoulder complaints, low back pain, injuries, chronic pain, insomnia, menstrual complaints (too much blood loss, pain, irregularity), menopausal complaints, abdominal pain, side effects of medication, nausea (also due to chemotherapy), hay fever, dizziness, tinnitus, bowel problems and more.

Body acupuncture

Many clients benefit from a number of treatments and report feeling better. Acupuncture prompts the body to recover or relieve pain.  It is a completely new experience for many people. Acupuncture can help you stay less in your head and more 'in your body'.

Cupping Treatment

Cupping

Cupping can be given as a separate treatment if you do not like an acupuncture treatment. Cupping can be used to promote circulation in muscles and tissues. Many clients with neck and shoulder complaints or back pain have indicated that they feel less stiff or experience less pain. If you are not sure whether your complaint qualifies for cupping, please feel free to contact me via the app or email.

Moxa is a supportive form of acupuncture therapy where a glowing moxa stick is held near the skin. The radiant heat at the right points on the body helps to relieve specific complaints in a pleasant and relaxed way.

To start with the most important thing: I am married and I am the mother of three beautiful children. Before I became an acupuncturist, I worked as an internal auditor. I know better than anyone what it's like to combine a busy job with a busy family life. At that time as an auditor, I was already intrigued by Classical Chinese Medicine. I got more and more into it. I got really excited when I was successfully treated in Utrecht by a Chinese acupuncturist. In the more than twenty years before that, the complaint I came for could not be resolved in the regular medical process. I was very surprised. How could this be? And why didn't my doctors know about this? From that moment on I knew: There is something special to learn here.

In 2015 I finally decided to completely change course and started studying TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) in New Zealand at the New Zealand School of Acupuncture in Auckland. That was the best decision of my life. What a fantastic job! In New Zealand I learned from the best teachers in the field. These people were not only excellent in Traditional Chinese Medicine but also had many years of experience as Western medical specialists. The training was therefore completely integrated with Western medicine. The training in New Zealand was a full-time four-year university course with a very intensive practical training. By way of comparison, in the Netherlands this is a part-time two-year HBO course with 6 hours spread over two weeks. Based on a strict selection process, I was given the opportunity to treat people in a community clinic who could not or could hardly afford regular treatment in a regular clinic.
