To start with the most important thing: I am married and I am the mother of three beautiful children. Before I became an acupuncturist, I worked as an internal auditor. I know better than anyone what it's like to combine a busy job with a busy family life. At that time as an auditor, I was already intrigued by Classical Chinese Medicine. I got more and more into it. I got really excited when I was successfully treated in Utrecht by a Chinese acupuncturist. In the more than twenty years before that, the complaint I came for could not be resolved in the regular medical process. I was very surprised. How could this be? And why didn't my doctors know about this? From that moment on I knew: There is something special to learn here.

In 2015 I finally decided to completely change course and started studying TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) in New Zealand at the New Zealand School of Acupuncture in Auckland. That was the best decision of my life. What a fantastic job! In New Zealand I learned from the best teachers in the field. These people were not only excellent in Traditional Chinese Medicine but also had many years of experience as Western medical specialists. The training was therefore completely integrated with Western medicine. The training in New Zealand was a full-time four-year university course with a very intensive practical training. By way of comparison, in the Netherlands this is a part-time two-year HBO course with 6 hours spread over two weeks. Based on a strict selection process, I was given the opportunity to treat people in a community clinic who could not or could hardly afford regular treatment in a regular clinic.
